Location

The Yards is at the heart of all the excitement happening in the increasingly vibrant Capitol Riverfront district of Washington DC. Located on the riverfront, between Nationals Park and the Washington Navy Yard, The Yards is a unique urban waterfront neighborhood in which to live, work, shop and play.

Downtown DC, Capitol Hill, Federal Triangle, the Verizon Center, as well as the Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs are all just minutes away. Regardless of the direction you’re headed, The Yards is a convenient home base.

M Street SE and South Capitol Street are the major east/west, north/south city traffic arteries in the Capitol Riverfront.
I-395 to the north & I-295 to the south, provide convenient regional access.

MetroRail’s Green Line is on M Street with convenient station entrances at both New Jersey Avenue and Half Street SE. Anywhere in The Yards is less than a five minute walk to the Metro. Several MetroBus lines and the DC Circulator’s Union Station-Navy Yard route run along M Street SE. Planned streetcar service along M Street will provide even more public transportation options.

The Anacostia Riverwalk walking/jogging/biking trail runs through The Yards, connecting with numerous locations upriver as well as planned connections over to the SW waterfront area, running along the Potomac as far as Georgetown. Reagan Washington National Airport is just a few miles away and easily accessible via car, cab or MetroRail. The public marina (planned for the second phase of park development) at The Yards will provide a place to bring your boat as well as provide planned water taxi service to other river points.
