Go Out in The Yards

Boilermaker Shop

Retail and dining options will light up every corner in The Yards, starting with the historic Boilermaker Shop at the corner of Tingey and 4th streets. Everything from ship boilers to torpedo tubes was once manufactured in this former industrial building. The heavy industrial heritage is ever present; however, now you’ll find a growing array of great places to savor as well.

On 4th at M St., a full-service Harris Teeter grocery store (opening 2013) will provide the ultimate in good taste and convenience, proving to be an essential and celebrated addition to the neighborhood. Residents and visitors alike will enjoy the convenience of never having to worry about where, when or how to pick up the little things.

Set Up Shop

The Yards is an ideal location for smart retailers and restaurateurs to set up shop. The surrounding residential and commercial neighborhood is designed to create a steady influx of foot traffic. With the activity of the Washington Nationals Ballpark District right next door, and the surrounding, rapidly redeveloping Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, the energy is certainly building!
