Yards Park Named as Finalist for ULI’s Urban Open Space Award
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has named The Yards Park as one of its five finalists in the prestigious Urban Open Space award program. This worldwide program recognizes outstanding examples of transformative and vibrant public open space that have spurred economic and social regeneration of their adjacent communities. The award winner is expected to be named at ULI's Fall Meeting in November.
Sweetgreen to Open at Twelve12
Sweetgreen, the much-loved, organic farm-to-table salad shops founded in Washington D.C., will open its latest location at The Yards. The restaurant will be a part of Twelve12, a 218-unit apartment and retail component that is currently under construction at 1212 Fourth Street SE at M Street SE in The Yards. The announcement was made today by Forest City Washington, the master developer of the 42-acre, Yards urban mixed-use waterfront development project located in the Capitol Riverfront district near Nationals Park.
Foundry Lofts Wins 10th Design Award
Since opening in late 2011, Foundry Lofts Apartments at The Yards has won numerous awards regarding its design, adaptive reuse, marketing and leasing program attributes. Recently, the National Association of Home Builders awarded Foundry Lofts a Gold Award in its prestigious "Best of American Living Awards" program, the 10th such award Foundry Lofts has garnered in just the first year since welcoming initial residents in late 2011.

Nando’s Peri-‐Peri, the fast-growing international chicken restaurant, has announced it will be opening its doors in a new location in Washington, DC’s renovated Boilermaker Shops Building at The Yards.
Agua 301 to Open in The Lumber Shed
Forest City Washington, developer of The Yards, announced today the signing of an additional sit-down restaurant to open in mid-summer 2013 in The Lumber Shed, an adaptive reuse component of the massive mixed-use redevelopment project located near Nationals Park in the Capitol Riverfront. To be known as Agua 301, it will feature Modern Mexican cuisine, according to the new restaurant’s owners.

Construction to Begin on Lumber Shed
Washington D.C. (June 20, 2012)-‐-‐Construction is set to begin next week on the Lumber Shed, the latest component to be developed at The Yards. The Yards Brings NYC Chef Michael White & the Altamarea Group to DC
Forest City and the Altamarea Restaurant Group of New York City today jointly announced that Altamarea’s latest location of their successful Osteria Morini restaurant concept will open at The Yards in summer 2013. The new 4,250 square foot Osteria Morini will be located in the Lumber Shed, an adaptive reuse component of The Yards, located on the riverfront at the northern edge of The Yards Park. It is the first tenant to be announced for the Lumber Shed and the first DC-area location for Chef White and the Altamarea Group.
Pedestrian Bridge Connecting Yards Park With Diamond Teague Park Opens
Forest City Washington joined with DC Mayor Vincent Gray, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and officials from the Washington Navy Yards, USDOT and DC Water to officially cut the ribbon on the new waterfront pedestrian bridge connecting The Yards Park with Diamond Teague Park. The famous Racing Presidents from Nationals Park inaugurated the bridge in style, racing down its length to be a part of the ribbon cutting at the last minute.
